Facebook Trying To Ease Your Break-ups In The Future

It’s the solution to an exclusively 21st century problem. You and your fling don’t work out after five years. The stuff is out of your place, the numbers been blocked…but now you have hundreds of photos and statuses you now have to get rid of. BBC says Facebook is looking to end your first world problem with some new tools it has in development right now.

The tool will allow you to…

  • “See less of a former partner’s name and profile picture around Facebook without having to unfriend or block them. Their posts won’t show up in News Feed and their name won’t be suggested when people write a new message or tag friends in photos.”
  • “Limit the photos, videos or status updates that a former partner will see.”
  • “Edit who can see their past posts with a former partner and untag themselves from posts with that person.”

That’s pretty awesome they aren’t just making it a straight severing of ties…they’re even accounting for amicable break ups that can turn nasty when someone sees the wrong thing. I for one applaud Facebook for taking this extra step. Real talk, I don’t want my future kids seeing any of my former flames when they brush through my life, so this is perfect.
