Here’s some interesting news coming from Spin magazine! OutKast claims in 2005 they were asked to perform in the SuperBowl…but declined. Big Boi really wanted to do it, but Andre 3000 flat out said no when they were told they would have to shorten their songs. The duo were set to perform “Hey Ya” and “I Like The Way You Move” and despite Boi’s best efforts to sway Andre…it just happened.
For the record that Superbowl halftime show would change how we would forever watch live events as it was the same Super Bowl the world saw Janet Jackson’s boob! Can you imagine a world without that moment? Probably, but all things considered that probably still tops a potential OutKast halftime show.
