Are you ready to learn some stuff? It’s January 8th and here’s what happened Today in Rock History!
Starting off with birthdays today, we have: Jeremy Spencer of Five Finger Death Punch, Robby Krieger of The Doors, Jeff Abercrombie of Fuel, Maya Ford and Torry Castellano of The Donnas, and of course we have the legendary David Bowie!
It’s a big day for Bowie as, on his 69th birthday and just two days before his death in 2016, we saw the release of what would become his final album Blackstar
And in 2013 we got Vessel from Twenty One Pilots!
We lost Steve Clark of Def Leppard of an accidental overdose in 1991.
In 2001, a woman who believed that Guns N Roses singer Axl Rose had telepathically communicated with her was arrested for stalking outside Rose’s home.
In 1979, Rush were named Canada’s official Ambassadors of Music by the Canadian government.
And finally in 1991, a 15-year-old named Jeremy Delle shot himself in his English class at Richardson High School in Texas. The event would inspire the creation of the Pearl Jam son Jeremy.
