Starting the day in 1978, Ozzy Osbourne rejoins Black Sabbath after quitting the band just two months prior. Ozzy would only stay with the band for another year before he was eventually fired from the group in April of 1979.

In 1979, the murder trial of Sex Pistol Sid Vicious began in New York as he was on trial for the murder of his girlfriend Nancy Spungen, which occurred three months prior. Vicious claimed that he found Nancy dead in their hotel room bathroom after he had awoken from a drugged stupor. Vicious would be released on bail and would die one month later
