Are you ready to learn some stuff? It’s November 27th and here’s what happened Today in Rock History!
Only one way to start the day as it’s Jimi Hendrix’s birthday
Other birthdays include Charlie Benante of Anthrax, Mike “Puffy” Bordin of Faith No More, and Myles Kennedy of Alter Bridge!
All of today’s major releases come from the 70’s, starting with the best selling solo-Beatles record All Things Must Pass from George Harrison in 1970
Also from 1970 was The Kinks’ Lola Versus Powerman and the Money-go-round, Part One!
We also got The Grand Wazoo from The Mothers of Invention in 1972, An American Prayer from The Doors in 1978 and Alice Cooper’s Killer in 1971!
And finally in 1991, Freddie Mercury’s funeral service took place at the West London Crematorium in Kensal Green Cemetery, conducted by a Zoroastrian priest. Per Mercury’s wishes, his body was cremated, his remains were given to longtime friend Mary Austin and were buried in an undisclosed location known only to Austin.
