Today in Rock History – November 13

Are you ready to learn some stuff? It’s November 13th and here’s what happened Today in Rock History!

During a sold-out Eagles of Death Metal show at Le Bataclan in Paris in 2015, terrorists armed with rifles, grenades, and suicide vests attacked the venue during a coordinated attack on the city. The band escaped but the attack left 89 dead, including the band’s merchandise manager.

We lost The Master of Space and Time, Leon Russell in 2016

Moving into releases now, we got I Get Wet from Andrew W.K. in 2001.

Also in 2001 we got Rob Zombie’s The Sinister Urge. Other releases include Dos from Green Day in 2012, AC/DC’s Power Up in 2020 and Soundgarden’s King Animal in 2012. This would be their last album with singer Chris Cornell.

It’s Nikolai Fraiture of The Strokes’ birthday

And finally in 1990, Temple of the Dog played their first and last show at the Off Ramp in Seattle.
