Today in Rock History – November 8

Are you ready to learn some stuff? It’s November 8th and here’s what happened Today in Rock History!

Today is a bit of a slow one, but we’re starting off STRONG with releases as we got Led Zeppelin IV in 1971!

The hits keep on coming as we also saw the release of Queen’s Sheer Heart Attack in 1974 and Transformer from Lou Reed in 1972!

In 1975, David Bowie made his US TV debut on Cher, performing his now iconic Fame.

In 2002, Pink Floyd member David Gilmour was made an Officer of the Order of the British Empire.

And finally in 1986, Metallica played their first show with their new bassist Jason Newsted. Newsted joined the band as the replacement for Cliff Burton who died in a tour bus accident in September.
