Are you ready to learn some stuff? It’s November 4th and here’s what happened Today in Rock History!
Starting the day on a sadder note as in 2008, Chi Cheng of the Deftones suffered serious injuries as he was involved in a car crash after not wearing a seat belt in the passenger seat. The crash would leave him in semi-comatose state for 4 and 1/2 years until his death in 2012.
We lost Fred “Sonic” Smith of MC5 in 1994
A 1976 Bruce Springsteen concert was delayed in New York due to a bomb threat. Springsteen would joke later on that the threat was made by former manager Mike Appel, who was currently suing Springsteen.
In 2000, System Of A Down performed a benefit concert for the Armenian National Committee of America. The band introduced new songs from their new album Toxicity.
Speaking of albums, we have an INSANE list of Releases for today. Starting off, we have The Allman Brothers Band debut record in 1969!
We also got: Cut the Crap from The Clash in 1985, Bowie’s The Man Who Sold the World in 1970,
Rocket to Russia from the Ramones in 1977, Black Sabbath’s Mob Rules in 1981,
and probably the best album out of the bunch today: IV: Revenge of the Vengeance from Psychostick in 2014!
In 1992, the seventh class of inductees of The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame was unveiled. The class included The Yardbirds, Johnny Cash, and The Jimi Hendrix Experience.

In 1967, while sharing the bill with Big Brother & The Holding Company, Pink Floyd made their US live debut at the Winterland Auditorium in San Francisco.
And finally in 1993, while at the funeral for actor River Phoenix, Ad-Rock of the Beastie Boys has an altercation with a videographer. Ad-Rock would be later charged with battery and grand theft for stealing the tape and would later be sentenced to 200 hours of community service.
