Today in Rock History – October 5th

Are you ready to learn some stuff? It’s October 5th and here’s what happened Today in Rock History!

We’ve got a killer list of releases today and starting it off we got Led Zeppelin III in 1970!

As well as Goodbye Yellow Brick Road from Elton John in 1973!

We also got The Police’s Reggatta de Blanc in 1979, Trench from Twenty One Pilots in 2018 and R.E.M.’s Automatic for the People in 1992!

Moving onto birthdays now, we have Brian Johnson of AC/DC!

Other birthdays include “Fast” Eddie Clarke of Motorhead and Steve Miller of The Steve Miller Band!

As well as Chris Howorth of In This Moment, Paul Thomas of Good Charlotte, and Bob Geldof of The Boomtown Rats and the man behind the Live Aid and Live 8 charity concerts

In 1999, after breaking up in 1983, Roger Daltrey announced that The Who would reform for a show in Las Vegas.

And finally in 1989, to prepare for their upcoming Dr. Feelgood tour, Motley Crue played a warm up show at the Whisky a Go Go in West Hollywood. They performed under the pseudonym The Foreskins and the show was used for filming their video for Kickstart My Heart
