Are you ready to learn some stuff? It’s March 24th and here’s what happened Today in Rock History!
Starting with releases we have So Much (for) Stardust from Fall Out Boy in 2023, Crack the Skye from Mastodon in ’09 and 5150 from Van Halen in 1986, their first album with singer Sammy Hagar and their first No. 1 Album on Billboard 200.
We lost Bill Rieflin in 2020. Rieflin was a drummer for many different acts in the ’90s including Ministry and Nine Inch Nails. He also played for R.E.M. after Bill Berry retired.
In 1973, a fan jumped on stage shouting “Leather!” during a Lou Reed show and bit Reed on the ass. The man was thrown out and Lou finished his set.
Rush is named Most Promising Group at the 1975 Juno Awards. They would later win Group of the Year in 1978 and 1979.
And finally in 2000, Jack and Meg White of the White Stripes get divorced. The divorce took place just three months before the release of their second album, De Stijl. They continued their musical partnership until 2011.
