Today in Rock History – February 27

Are you ready to learn some stuff? It’s February 27th and here’s what happened Today in Rock History!

With the end of February nearing, major events just seem to be coming to a stand still. Because man! Is it a slow one today.

Anyways! Starting off with releases, we have The Gray Race from Bad Religion and The Works by Queen.

Another release on this day was The Who’s first single since the death of drummer Keith Moon. The song:

Moving onto birthdays now, its Adrian Smith of Iron Maiden, Johnny Van Zant of Lynyrd Skynyrd and Jared Champion of Cage the Elephant’s birthdays today

And finally (I know already?!) in 1998, not to be outdone by at the time former bandmate Tommy Lee, Vince Neil of Motley Crue announced his partnership with Internet Entertainment Group and Vivid Video to distribute a 60 minute sex tape of himself with two adult film models while on vacation in Hawaii. To get that image of a naked late 90’s Vince Neil out of your mind, here’s Vince trying to sing Kickstart My Heart.

I’m sure that video is about the same length as Vince lasted with those adult actresses.

This has been Today in Rock History! Keep on Rocking, keep on Rolling! Check back tomorrow for your next rock history lesson!
