Are you ready to learn some stuff? It’s February 19th and here’s what happened Today in Rock History!
Starting off on a somber note as it was on this day in 1980 that the world lost the legendary voice of AC/DC, Bon Scott.
Known for his growling vocals and his onstage and offstage antics, Scott was one of the main driving forces of what became AC/DC as we know it today. Thank you Bon, the rock world misses you.
Now onto releases! We have The Yes Album by Yes (1971), Green Mind by Dinosaur Jr (1991) and Road Apples by The Tragically Hip (1991)
With birthdays, we have John Crist of Danzig, David Adair of Nickelback and the legendary Tony Iommi of Black Sabbath!
Another member of Sabbath had a very eventful day, as in 1982, Ozzy Osbourne was arrested in San Antonio for urinating on a statue at the Alamo. Osbourne was wearing a dress when he was arrested (Sharon hid his clothes so he couldn’t go outside. That totally helped) and was banned from playing in San Antonio again (which was lifted ten years later). Later Ozzy was interviewed about the incident and said his next goal was to urinate on the White House Lawn.
In 1995, Tommy Lee of Motley Crue marries Pam Anderson in Mexico. Anderson wore a white bikini for the wedding. Now, just pause and picture that in your mind!

And finally in 1996, for President’s Day, The Presidents of the United States of America, play a show at Mount Rushmore. The gig was broadcasted on MTV.
