Today in Rock History – February 16

Are you ready to learn some stuff? It’s February 16th and here’s what happened Today in Rock History!

Starting off with birthdays today we have Pete Willis of Def Leppard, Longineu W Parsons of Yellowcard, and Dave Lombardo of Slayer!

In 1972, Led Zeppelin made their live debut in Australia. Over 4,000 fans stood outside without tickets and many locals jammed phone lines trying to complain to the cops about the noise.

A lot of cops today as in 2005, Kid Rock was arrested for ‘allegedly’ punching a DJ at a strip club in Nashville, TN. Police were called but Rock left before they arrived. A bit later, Rock was stopped by an officer who got an autograph. The officer didn’t do a breathalyzer test despite the smell of alcohol. A few hours later, Rock was arrested, taken to night court and was later released on $3,000 bail. Oh, and the cop who got an autograph? He was fired.

And finally in 1991, The Simpsons become the first cartoon characters since 1969 to reach No. 1 on the charts with the song, Do the Bartman.
