Today in Rock History – February 6th

Are you ready to learn some stuff? It’s February 6th, here’s what happened Today in Rock History!

Starting off with birthdays, we have the late Gord Downie of The Tragically Hip (If you haven’t listened to the Hip, educate yourself) and Lafayette, IN’s very own Axl Rose of GNR.

And just because I can, it’s also Bob Marley’s birthday today.

One release today, and that would be Infinity on High by Fall Out Boy

In 1990, Billy Idol crashed his Harley into a car after failing to stop at a stop sign. He suffered serious injuries but is still rocking today!

In 2013, Warner Music purchases Parlophone Records from Universal Music.

And finally in 2014, NME (New Musical Express) named Smells Like Teen Spirit as the greatest song of all time!

You didn’t even notice the surprise I hid in the birthdays section did ya? Go back and check it again and come back when you find it. I’ll wait….

Did you find it? Yeah, it’s his birthday today, too.

This has been Today in Rock History! Keep on Rocking, keep on Rolling! Check back tomorrow for your next rock history lesson!
