Unhappy about his contract situation, Colts running back Jonathan Taylor has requested a trade.
News of the trade request broke after Taylor met with Colts owner Jim Irsay on Saturday.
Irsay appears to be playing hardball – he told reporters the team will not trade Taylor, and don’t expect to sign him to a contract extension.
Taylor is heading into the final year of his rookie contract and will make $4.3 million this year – 18th among NFL running backs, despite posting top-5 numbers in his first three seasons.
He’s currently on the PUP list while recovering from offseason ankle surgery.
If the Colts won’t trade OR extend Taylor, what will he do? Would he sit out the entire season? Thanks, Killabrew.
