Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore became the nation’s 61st National Park back in February of 2019. The name change did not immediately come with an entrance fee, but that will change come spring.
According to a recent press release, visitors will have to pay a fee starting on March 31. Prices will range from $15 to $45 with an annual pass specific to Indiana Dunes National Park. Patrons can also pay up to $100 for a bus or coach pass.
Fees will help cover maintenance projects like a bike trail, parking and transportation improvements.
If you have a Federal Lands Pass already, you’re good—that will also get you into the National Park. New passes do not however, cover entrance to the Indiana Dunes State Park.
