I know it’s been weighing heavy on your mind—what’s going to happen to my phone data when I die? Well, Apple has also been thinking about this, and they have created a new feature to solve the issue.
You can now choose up to five people to inherit your data when you’re gone from this world. That includes photos, texts, notes, apps and more.
To designate your people, do the following per CBS 4:
- Go to Settings on your iPhone and click your name at the top.
- Tap “Password & Security,” then “Legacy Contact.”
- Designate up to five contacts as legacy contacts.
- Print and save the access code. Your contacts will need this and your death certificate to gain access.
It sounds like a lot of work, but those memories will probably mean a lot to your loved ones. Personally, I want it all to go away. Just blow up my phone and my cloud and erase it all.
