Metallica released their self-titled album, dubbed the the Black Album, in 1991. And for the 30th anniversary this year, they will be remastering and reissuing the album. But that’s not all.
The band will also release Blacklist—an album containing versions of songs from the Black Album by 53 different artists across various genres. Nearly a quarter of the artists chose “Nothing Else Matters”. Seriously…there are 12 versions of the song on Blacklist, including takes from Chris Stapleton, Miley Cyrus, Darius Rucker and My Morning Jacket.
Other notable names on the album: Corey Taylor, Weezer, Volbeat and Ghost. Check out the full track listing at Loudwire, and get ready for the release on September 10.
Oh, and all profits go to charity.
