If you had a late fee or two (or more) at the Indianapolis Public Library, there’s a good chance that you don’t anymore. IndyPL has enacted a new policy as of January 4, and it includes waiving fees for over 87,000 people according to WTHR.

They still want you to bring back your materials within three weeks, but if you’re a bit late, you won’t be charged. However, if an item is overdue too long, patrons will be charged a replacement fee.
“If you have been hesitant to use the library for fear of getting late fines or because you owed late fines, those concerns should no longer stand in your way. We have so much for our community to enjoy,” said Jackie Nytes, CEO for the Indianapolis Public Library.
