This weekend I went to Kroger and stopped in the booze aisle. I decided to make my own six pack and there were actually a decent amount of local beers to choose from.

Although I don’t remember if Three Floyd’s Zombie Dust was among the options. I’ll have to check for it next time I go though, because it was just ranked among the top 10 beers in America by Zymurgy readers (a publication by the American Homebrewers Association).

The brew came in at #6 according to BrewPublic.com. For the fourth year in a row, Two Hearted Ale from Bell’s Brewery came in at number one. I’ve never actually tried it, even though it’s currently in my fridge. Not a big IPA fan.

Here’s the full list. I think I’ve only tried the Sierra Nevada. But I did get a flight at Deschutes once so maybe #9? What a loser.

1. Bell’s Two Hearted Ale*
2. Russian River Pliny the Elder*
3. Sierra Nevada Pale Ale*
4. The Alchemist Heady Topper*
5. Bell’s Hopslam*
6. Three Floyds Zombie Dust*
T7. Boulevard Tank 7 Farmhouse Ale *
T7. Founders Kentucky Breakfast Stout
9. Deschutes Fresh Squeezed IPA*
10. North Coast Old Rasputin*

Three Floyd’s brewery in Munster was also named a top brewery in America, but it’s been shut down because of the pandemic.
