Over four years ago, my dog Mudge AKA Badger AKA Tato P. Tato passed away as a result of cancer. Some days I still think about him and cry. That’s exactly what happened each time I read this tweet.
A woman named Sallie Hammett wrote an obituary for her dog, Charlie and shared it on Twitter. While it’s sad, it is also super sweet and if you’re a pet owner, you probably get it.
Sallie mentioned Charlie’s love of peanut butter, stealing socks and finding sticks on his walks.
I wrote my dog an obituary because of course I did. He was the best boy. pic.twitter.com/FKmqeivtq9

After the post went viral, Sallie said it was a “special thing for her special boy.”
The response to this has been so overwhelming in the best way. Thank you all for loving Charlie and for sharing all your doggos (keep em coming). Also thanks to @dogfather for spreading Charlie's smile far and wide. What a special thing for my special boy. 💜 https://t.co/XVq7ZjnEip
