I like Jericho. At 48, he has manged to reinvent himself and remain relevant. He really does do a lot of things well, but he is catching some heat these days. He played 4 shows last week and people are not happy about it. Concerts in 2020 have been frowned upon for health reasons.
After the first show, people saw photos of the concert on social media and took to Twitter to voice their criticism about it.
As a result, Fozzy has been trending on the social media platform. Obviously, the United States just like the rest of the world is still dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic. People had issues with a photo showing a moshpit with a lack of social distancing and fans not wearing masks.
The majority of Fozzy’s tour dates that had been scheduled for the summer were postponed due to illness. However, the band was able to keep a few bookings this month in South Dakota, and North Dakota, and in Fort Madison.
Fans have been calling him and the band out:
Y’all sacrificing your lives for FOZZY?!? pic.twitter.com/rpmy5HQZFc

Jericho working concerts for Fozzy and attending tapings for AEW. But when WWE tape shows it’s an outrage because they’re exposing talent to corona. Y’all are mental with your double standards.

Wasn’t Chris Jericho saying that all lives matter a few months ago? But yet he still endangers all the lives of his fans by refusing to cancel his Fozzy concert.
I respect everything Jericho has done for the wrestling business, but I thought he’d at least show SOME common sense.

Hey @TonyKhan you cannot by any means allow @IAmJericho at any @AEWrestling shows for 2 weeks if he’s going to be playing freakin’ Fozzy shows in venues like this tonight & tomorrow. It’s irresponsible as hell & he needs to quarantine lest he put the whole company at risk. https://t.co/XgoWp7kKNs

Tfw you become the judas in your mind 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️ what a fucking joke. I love jericho but this is such a bad look for him, AEW, and fozzy pic.twitter.com/UPr6M1oOyC

I feel for performers that generally live hand to mouth. But that’s not Fozzy’s situation, they can’t use the starving artist excuse. They didn’t NEED to play that show.

Fuck Chris Jericho. He has shown he’s a Trump supporter and clearly doesn’t take the virus seriously. It’s so irresponsible to have done this. Wonder what Tony Khan will say.

I seriously hope Tony Khan and the rest of the higher ups at @AEWrestling have Chris Jericho self isolate for a couple weeks after having a freaking FOZZY concert with a ton of people showing up. Kind of doubt it though.

Nice to see Chris Jericho holding a Fozzy concert with no Social Distancing or Masks.
Hey Tony Khan you gonna do something here? Gonna like fine him and keep him off Dynamite for the next couple weeks?

In the opening minutes of his Saturday Night Special live stream, Jericho provided some insight about holding shows during this time.
“The reason why the shows have happened is because these states of North Dakota and South Dakota have low COVID cases, less than 1000 in both states. I think Florida had 9000 today alone. The venues are either outside, or they are half capacity. We are sold out tonight in Minot with I think 50% capacity, last night we were sold out in Sioux Falls, SD with 35% capacity.
We hand out masks at the door, the temperature checks, we stay on the bus all day, the Fozzy crew and camp have been tested”
Where I defend him, Fozzy isn’t selling out 20 thousand seat arenas. Still, on a day where Marion County Bars and Clubs must remain closed, it is not the best look.
