The commercials alone were a big part of my childhood so this one hits hard.
According to Journal & Courier, the theme park was marginally profitable but not enough to warrant the owning company to keep it open. Apex Parks Group is reportedly not only closing Indiana Beach, but also two other parks that they own.
The park has been open since 1926. Apex bought it back in 2015.
I guess there’s no longer more than corn in Indiana. USA Today does say that some of the rides will be moved to parks in Florida and California.
