I lived in Chicago for a summer and it seemed like there were more Bar Louie locations than Starbucks. Granted, that was in 2008. But, the chain founded in Chicago now has about half the amount of restaurants they did 10 years ago, going from over 100 to just over 70.
On Monday, the Texas-based company announced they were filing Chapter 11 bankruptcy according to Eater. 38 of their locations were shuttered, some very abruptly.
There are two locations in the Indianapolis area—Greenwood and Carmel—and both are safe, at least for now.
