Slipknot Fan Dies Hours After Apparent Fall In Mosh Pit At Chicago Show

If you’re going to see Slipknot and Volbeat at Knotfest tonight, be careful. Especially if you’re planning on getting in that mosh pit.

According to multiple reports, including one from Consequence of Sound, a 62-year-old fan died hours after the concert in Tinley Park, IL. Fans report seeing Richard Valadez being knocked to the ground in a mosh pit on the lawn.

“He seized as people were trying to help him up, so we start calling for help,” said one witness. It reportedly took about 20 minutes for paramedics to arrive and Valadez died hours later at a hospital.

This comes weeks after Slipknot stopped a show in San Bernardino, California to calm down rowdy fans in the pit.
