Are you ready to learn some stuff? It’s March 15th and here’s what happened Today in Rock History!

Big day for albums today. We have Naked from Talking Heads in 1988, 13 from Blur in 1999, Get Your Wings from Aerosmith in 1974 and Endgame from Rise Against in 2011!
Don’t worry, I didn’t forget Destroyer!
Moving onto Birthdays today, we have Tatiana Shmailyuk of Jinjer!
Other birthdays include Joe Hahn of Linkin Park, Dee Snider of Twisted Sister, Phil Lesh of the Grateful Dead, Bret Michaels of Poison, and Mark Hoppus of Blink-182!
We lost Mike Porcaro of Toto in 2015 from ALS, as well as Scott Asheton of The Stooges in 2014 from a heart attack. Today is also noteworthy for The Stooges as it was on this day in 2010 that they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame!
We also have two other Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremonies today. The first being in 1999, featuring inductees Billy Joel, Paul McCartney, and Bruce Springsteen!
The other took place in 2004 and featured inductees George Harrison, Prince, Bob Seger, and ZZ Top! Oh dammit, just play the song you’re expecting!
In 1982, Mick Jagger hit many firsts on this day when he performed at Castle Hall in Osaka, Japan! His first solo tour, his first performance in Japan, and his first full concert since 1982. He mostly performed Rolling Stones tunes including ones that weren’t played live for a very long time, including Gimmie Shelter, Ruby Tuesday, Sympathy For The Devil, and…
And finally in 2003, The Offspring announced their new album, called Chinese Democracy, which was in turn mocking the long-delayed Guns N Roses album of the same name. Offspring singer Dexter Holland said, “Axl ripped-off my braids, so I ripped-off his album title.” The album would be renamed later to Splinter.
