In 1988, a Def Leppard show as cancelled in El Paso after receiving threats from the locals because singer Jo Elliot used some really derogatory language about the city and Mexicans. Yeah it was rough.

In 1969, the first known use of the word “groupies” appeared on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine for an article about groupie culture.

In 1987, Ben & Jerry’s introduces their new ice cream flavor Cherry Garcia. The ice cream was named after Grateful Dead frontman Jerry Garcia.

In 2003, alongside director Michael Moore, System Of A Down shoot the video for their song Boom while at a march for peace.

And finally in 1977, Glenn Matlock was fired as bass player for the Sex Pistols and was replaced by Sid Vicious. He would later rejoin the band in the 90’s when they reformed.
