Are you ready to learn some stuff? It’s February 5th, here’s what happened Today in Rock History!

Starting with releases we have Goodbye from Cream in 1969, Bad Brains’ debut record in 1982, and Medicine at Midnight from the Foo Fighters in 2021. This one is important, as this was the final record Foo made with drummer Taylor Hawkins
In 1998, Slaughter guitarist Tim Kelly died in a car crash at the age of 35 in Arizona after crossing the middle line of a highway and struck a semi head on.
With birthdays today, we have Cliff Martinez formerly of the Red Hot Chili Peppers (he played on their first and second albums), Adam Carson of AFI, Tommy Skeoch of Tesla, and Duff McKagen of Guns N’ Roses and Velvet Revolver!
Oh and it’s also Nigel Tufnel of Spinal Tap’s birthday today. As well as actor Christopher Guest. Not sure why he’s so important but I thought I’d add him here alongside Nigel
In 2015, glam rocker Gary Glitter was found guilty of multiple sexual assault crimes, and was later sentenced to 16 years in prison. Who the hell is Gary Glitter you ask? Well he’s known for maybe one of the biggest Jock Jams of all time.
And finally in 1983, Def Leppard’s Pyromania entered the U.S. charts and would stay for 92 weeks. Although it never reached number 1, it sold over 6 million copies in just the States. Let’s blast Rock of Ages.
