Today in Rock History – January 29

Are you ready to learn some stuff? It’s January 29th and here’s what happened Today in Rock History!

Starting the day in 2002, the first Projekt Revolution festival, launched by Linkin Park, took place in Colorado Springs. The festival would return for two more years before ending. It would return three more times in 2007, 2008, and 2011 respectively.

Moving into releases now, we have Picture This from Huey Lewis and the News in 1982, Uncle Anesthesia by the Screaming Trees in 1991 and Vampire Weekend’s debut record in 2008!

Birthdays today features Eddie Jackson of Queensryche and Tommy Ramone of the Ramones!

And finally in 1968, after playing a show at the Pussy Cat A Go Go in Las Vegas, The Doors singer Jim Morrison gets arrested after getting into a fight with a security guard in the parking lot. Morrison would be charged with vagrancy, public drunkeness, and failure to possess sufficient identification.
