While performing at The Guildhall in Portsmouth, England, in 1972, Pink Floyd performed what would become The Dark Side Of The Moon in it’s entirety. They actually tried to do the performance the night before in Brighton, but stopped due to technical issues.
A few years later on this day we got Pink Floyd’s Animals in 1977!
Another release was Transgender Dysphoria Blues from Against Me! in 2014. This would be the bands first album since lead singer Laura Jane Grace coming out as transgender.
In 2004, Metallica’s documentary Some Kind of Monster debuted at Sundance.
With birthdays today, we have Todd Morse of The Offspring and Chris Kilmore of Incubus!
We lost Lamar Williams of The Allman Brothers Band in 1983 from lung cancer
And finally in 2018, the four-hour public funeral for Dolores O’Riordan of The Cranberries began in Ireland at the St Joseph’s Church, where she laid in repose for three days. Normally reserved for heads of state, thousands of fans passed by her open coffin
