Are you ready to learn some stuff? It’s December 25th and here’s what happened Today in Rock History!
Merry Christmas and to start the day we’ve got birthdays! First up, it’s Josh Freese of the Foo Fighters!
Other birthdays include Noel Redding of The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Jimmy Buffett, and Noel Hogan of the Cranberries!
As well as Jason Thrisk of Pennywise, Annie Lennox of the Eurythmics and Neil Westfall of A Day to Remember!
In 1968, Led Zeppelin arrived in the US for the very first time for their debut North American tour. The group would be paid an average of just $1,500 for each show.
And finally in 1977, The Sex Pistols played what would be their final concert in the UK at Ivanhoe’s in Huddersfield, England, which was a charity benefit for firemen on strike. The band would break up a month later after playing their biggest show ever at San Francisco’s Winterland Ballroom. The Pistol’s would return to play in the UK in 1996.
