Are you ready to learn some stuff? It’s December 17th and here’s what happened Today in Rock History!
Starting the day off, we got David Bowie’s Hunky Dory in 1971!
Other releases include 1976’s Wind & Wuthering from Genesis and Green Day’s Kerplunk in 1991!
We have a STACKED list of Birthdays today and we’re starting us off with Mike Mills of R.E.M.!
Other birthdays include: Earl Hudson of the Bad Brains, Paul Rodgers of Bad Company, Neil Sanderson of Three Days Grace, and Mick Quinn of Supergrass!
Oh, we’re not done yet as we also have: Ryan Key of Yellowcard, Jeremy McKinnon of A Day to Remember, Taylor York of Paramore and Sam Loeffler of Chevelle!
We lost Captain Beefheart in 2010 from complications from multiple sclerosis.
And finally in 1982, The Who played the final show on their farewell tour in Toronto. It would be filmed and later released on HBO as Who’s Last. The farewell only lasted a few years as the band returned to play Live Aid in 1985 and began touring once again in 1989.
