Starting the day in 1987, as a Kentucky appeared in front of the US Supreme Court to appeal her wrongful termination lawsuit against her former school. She was fired for showing Pink Floyd’s The Wall in class. The court sided with the school as they saw the film was not suitable for minors.
Today’s releases include Axis: Bold as Love from The Jimi Hendrix Experience in 1967,
As well as Sabbath Bloody Sabbath from Black Sabbath in 1973 and the Australian release of AC/DC’s T.N.T. in 1975!
Moving into birthdays now, we have, Brad Delson of Linkin Park!
Other birthdays include Tyler Joseph of Twenty One Pilots, Eric Bloom of Blue Oyster Cult, John Densmore of The Doors, and Caleb Shomo of Beartooth!
In 1991, due to a misunderstanding, Jerry Cantrell of Alice in Chains causes the band to miss a tour date opening for Van Halen in Memphis. What was the issue? Cantrell thought there were 31 days in November and continued his hunting trip.
And finally in 1976, after Queen pulled out of an appearance on Britain’s ITV live program Today, the Sex Pistols appeared in their place alongside Siouxsie Sioux. Interviewer Bill Grundy provoked the band to say something “outrageous.” Guitarist Steve Jones took the opportunity and, well dropped the dreaded F-bomb on live national TV.
