Today in Rock History – October 31st

Happy Halloween Ghouls and Ghosts! Are you ready to learn some stuff? It’s October 31st and here’s what happened Today in Rock History!

Starting the day in 1990, after opening for Billy Idol at a gig in Seattle, members of Faith No More walked on stage naked during Idol’s set. Why would they do such a thing? Well Billy dumped 600 dead fish into their dressing room earlier in the day.

Moving into birthdays now, we have Ad-Rock of the Beastie Boys!

Other birthdays include: Colm Ó Cíosóig of My Bloody Valentine and Adam Schelsinger of Fountains of Wayne.

As well as Larry Mullen Jr of U2, Roger Steven of Blind Melon, and Frank Iero of My Chemical Romance!

We got Godsmack’s Awake in 2000!

In 1988 we also got both Bug from Dinosaur Jr. and Ultramega OK from Soundgarden. And in 1994 we got Jimmy Page & Robert Plant’s MTV Unplugged session, No Quarter: Jimmy Page and Robert Plant Unledded

And finally in 1989, speaking of Unplugged, MTV recorded the first episode of their now iconic series, featuring an acoustic set from Squeeze. The episode would premiere that November.
