As well as Cheap Trick’s All Shook Up in 1980, the Don’t Stop EP by Billy Idol in 1981 and Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness from The Smashing Pumpkins in 1995!

After the opening act for Faces dropped out for their show at the Forum in Montreal in 1975, Heart gets their big break! Many in the Montreal crowd knew their songs after a local radio station played many of their early hits. A year later they would begin their rise in America!

With Birthdays today we have Debbie Googe of My Bloody Valentine, Jerry Edmonton of Steppenwolf and Bill Wyman of The Rolling Stones!

In 1973, John Lennon sued the US Government for allegedly wiretapping his phone while he was fighting deportation and during the government’s investigation of antiwar elements in society.

And finally in 1988, the plagiarism trial against John Fogerty began, which was brought about by Fogerty’s former label boss Saul Zaentz. Fogerty was accused of plagiarizing HIMSELF by using elements of the Creedence Clearwater Revival song Run Through the Jungle for his solo hit The Old Man Down The Road. Fogerty would win the case.
