Are you ready to learn some stuff? It’s October 14th and here’s what happened Today in Rock History!
Starting the day off with releases, and we’re kicking it off with David Bowie’s second act of his experimental Berlin Trilogy: Heroes, released in 1977
Other releases include TWO live albums: Alive II from KISS in 1977 and Iron Maiden’s Live After Death in 1985, as well as Green Day’s Nimrod in 1997!
In 1988, Def Leppard became the first act in chart history for two consecutive albums (’83’s Pyromania and ’87’s Hysteria) to sell seven million copies.
It’s A.J. Pero of Twisted Sister’s birthday today!
And finally in 2007, Running Down A Dream, the 4-hour Tom Petty documentary, debuted at the New York Film Festival. The film chronicled the history of the band up to that point, from it’s beginnings as Mudcrutch to the band’s 30th anniversary show in Gainesville, FL a year prior.
