Are you ready to learn some stuff? It’s October 6th and here’s what happened Today in Rock History!
Starting the day on a sad note as we lost Eddie Van Halen in 2020 from throat cancer.
We also lost Ginger Baker of Cream in 2019 from complications of COPD.
We saw the releases of Dig Out Your Soul from Oasis in 2008 and Fully Completely by The Tragically Hip in 1992
With birthdays we have William Butler of Arcade Fire and Donnie Steele formerly of Slipknot.
And finally in 1990, The Cult’s Ian Astbury organizes the A Gathering of Tribes festival at the Shoreline Amphitheater in California which included acts like Soundgarden, Iggy Pop, and Ice T. The festival is considered the forebear to Lollapalooza, which would launch just a year later
