Are you ready to learn some stuff? It’s September 26th and here’s what happened Today in Rock History!

Starting the day off strong with releases, we have the iconic Beatles record Abbey Road released in 1969!

In 1967, Pink Floyd played their first ever live shows in the US when they played the first of three shows at the Fillmore in San Francisco.

In 1981, Bruce Dickinson joined Iron Maiden as their new lead vocalist

It’s the late Shannon Hoon of Blind Melon’s birthday today!

The Rocky Horror Picture Show was released to the public in 1975

Scott Stapp of Creed launched his With Arms Wide Open Foundation in 2000. Fundraising began with the re-release of the Creed song of the same name.

And finally in 1986, Metallica played what would be their final show with bass player Cliff Burton while on tour in Sweden. Burton would die in a tour bus crash on the way to the band’s next gig. Their final song together was Blitzkrieg.
