Today in Rock History – August 25

Are you ready to learn some stuff? It’s August 25th and here’s what happened Today in Rock History!

HOLY HELL IS TODAY BUSY! Let’s start with the absolute AMAZING list of album releases. Starting off we got Metallica’s …And Justice for All in 1988!

Other releases include Shaka Rock from JET in 2009, Zipper Catches Skin by Alice Cooper in 1982 and Born to Run by The Boss Bruce Springsteen in 1975!

The list keeps going as we also got Boston’s Debut Record in 1976, Eric Clapton’s Unplugged in 1992 and Permanent Vacation from Aerosmith in 1987!

And in 1998 we got both Godsmack’s debut record and Hellbilly Deluxe from Rob Zombie!

Now that we’re done with that amazing list of releases, let’s keep this killer day going with birthdays! First off, it’s The Demon Gene Simmons of KISS’ birthday!

Other birthdays include Vivian Campbell of Def Leppard, Sergio Vega of the Deftones and Rob Halford of Judas Priest!

In 1994, Led Zeppelin’s Jimmy Page and Robert Plant reunited to record the concert that would become the MTV special Unledded.

In 2005, two former members of Guns N Roses, Slash and Duff McKagen, sued singer Axl Rose for allegedly named himself the sole administrator of the band’s copyrights. Slash and McKagen’s legal action claimed that Rose “was no longer willing to acknowledge the contributions of his former partners.”

And finally before a 1987 show in Rochester, New York, Vince Neil of Motley Crue in a fit of anger, breaks a jar of Gulden’s mustard in his hand after he specifically requested Frenchie’s. The show got canceled and Neil was airlifted to a hospital in Baltimore after he damaged nerves and tendons in his hand.
