Today in Rock History – August 4

Are you ready to learn some stuff? It’s August 4th and here’s what happened Today in Rock History!

Today is an EXTREMELY slow day.

But we’re starting strong with the debut of Pink Floyd with 1967’s The Piper at the Gates of Dawn!

Birthdays Robbin Crosby of Ratt and Joey Huffman of Soul Asylum

In 1975, Robert Plant got into a car crash in Greece. He hurt his ankle and his elbow and didn’t fully recover until two years later. Plant got hurt so bad that he was forced to cancel an upcoming North American tour.

Man, we’re hitting the bottom of the barrel with today. Hang on let me find something else to talk about… Quick! Use a Simpson’s clip to distract them!!!

Uhhh…. Coyote Ugly released in 2000? No, that’s too country… Um…Dennis Wilson of the Beach Boys gets married? No, to 60’s… Super Fly releases in theaters in 1972??? Maybe… Naaah! Ooo here we go! Jim Morrison of The Doors was arrested for public drunkenness in LA in 1970! I don’t think I can find a better way to end today! With a drunk Jim Morrison.
