A roadie who worked for artists like Elton John and Oasis was arrested in 2000 and was charged with drug smuggling. The roadie managed to smuggle millions of English Pounds worth of Ecstasy into the UK.
It was on this day in 1969 at a press conference that Mick Taylor was officially revealed to be the new guitarist of The Rolling Stones.
In 1998, a concert-goer was struck by lightning at the Tibetan Freedom Concert, held in Washington D.C.’s RFK Stadium during the Dave Matthews Band set. The attendee, Lysa Selfon, was revived by an off-duty paramedic and would make a full recovery
In 2003, the Arctic Monkeys played their very first gig, debuting at The Grapes pub in Sheffield, England. The band made a whopping £27 (about $30) in ticket sales.
And finally in 1975, Peter Frampton begins the first of his two night performances at San Francisco’s Winterland Ballroom. Those two nights, as well as others, were recorded and were used to create one of the greatest live albums of all time: Frampton Comes Alive!
