Today in Rock History – June 4

Are you ready to learn some stuff? It’s June 4th and here’s what happened Today in Rock History!

Starting off with releases, we have Born in the U.S.A. from The Boss, Bruce Springsteen!

We also got Recipe for Hate from Bad Religion and Load from Metallica!

Moving onto birthdays now, we have Tony McCarroll of Oasis, Stefan Lessard from the Dave Matthews Band and Zac Farro of Paramore! Oh no! The EMOS! THEY’RE COMING!

Stiv Bators of the Dead Boys got into a motorcycle accident in 1990 after a car struck him and knock him off his bike. Thinking he was ok, he went home and slept. He didn’t wake up unfortunately, as he died in his sleep from a traumatic brain injury at the age of 40.

We also lost Steve Priest of Sweet in 2020

In 1997, the body of Jeff Buckley was discovered in the Mississippi River after disappearing on May 29th in Wolf River Harbor.

And finally in 1993, Kurt Cobain was arrested at his house in Seattle after a domestic dispute with Courtney Love. Some reported that Cobain had choked his wife, but he denied the reports stating that the police were called due to loud music. Others alleged that it was due to an argument about Cobain’s collection of firearms.
