It’s Bernie Taupin’s birthday today! Taupin is the lyricist and writing partner of Elton John and helped write many of John’s hits.

In 2011, during an investigation of the Tennessee home of former KISS guitarist Vinnie Vincent, police found four dead dogs in ‘sealed containers’. The investigation let to Vincent’s arrest on charges of assault and he was later released after posting $10,000 bond.

In 1971, The Rolling Stones’ Sticky Fingers hits No. 1 in the US.

In 2009, Meg White of the White Stripes gets married to Jackson Smith in the backyard of ex-husband and bandmate Jack White’s house. The event was a double wedding. The other wedding was for Jo McCaughey and Jack Lawrence (the bass player for Jack White’s other bands The Raconteurs and The Dead Weather).
