After playing a couple of new tunes from his upcoming “CMF2″record live on his solo tour, Corey Taylor has announced the release of his second solo album’s first single.

The Slipknot frontman is set to drop a new song and video for “Beyond” on May 16, telling fans he’s “So stoked for you to hear it!”

“Beyond” isn’t an entirely new song though.

It was originally performed in 2009 with former side-project Corey Taylor & The Junk Beer Kidnap Band, but has since been reworked for “CMF2.”

Corey will be releasing “CMF2” later this year via BMG saying, “I haven’t felt this driven and determined since I first started out in ’99. BMG is the new bastion of rock and metal, and with them ready to go, I can tell you we’re heading for big things. Thank you, BMG!”

When was the last time you felt driven? Thanks, Killabrew.
