The Time Neil Peart Turned Down Godsmack

Like many rock bands, Godsmack were influenced by Rush drummer Neil Peart – in fact, they once tried to get him to play on a Godsmack record. Frontman Sully Erna says he asked Peart to play on their 2003 song ‘Serenity’, which was heavily inspired by Peart’s lyrics. Peart turned him down, but Erna doesn’t hold a grudge – in fact, he says the request “allowed me to establish a relationship with (Peart), and over the years I got to know him really well.” Thanks, Killabrew.
