Indiana is almost completely into stage three of its reopening plan. One of the benefits of that stage is that public pools can start to reopen.
But, it looks like some pools won’t actually open at all in 2020. Indiana State Parks have made the decision to keep their pools closed for the season.
According to RTV6, the issue isn’t with the pools themselves. It’s actually a worry that the decks won’t be big enough for people to properly distance.
Parks included in the decision are:
Mounds, Prophetstown, Turkey Run, McCormick’s Creek, Spring Mill, Brown County, Versailles, Clifty Falls, O’Bannon Woods, Shakamak, Harmonie and Cagles Mill Lake.
While the pools at the parks will remain closed, beaches at many parks will be open.
