Buzzfeed has a list of the 50 most surprising TV character deaths over the past decade, and naturally it’s PACKED WITH SPOILERS, which shouldn’t be a problem . . .
Most of these deaths happened years ago, and are all over the Internet . . . and if you REALLY cared about these shows, you would’ve watched them by now. Still, if you’re a TV procrastinator, hum loudly to yourself for a few minutes.
Here are 10 highlights:
1. On “How I Met Your Mother”, when Tracy a.k.a. “The Mother” died of an illness years after she finally met Ted.
2. When Lexie was killed during the plane crash on “Grey’s Anatomy”. And then, when Mark succumbed to his injuries from the crash weeks later.
3. On “This Is Us”, when William died of cancer while on a trip with Randall.
4. On “The Walking Dead”, when The Governor decapitated Hershel.
5. When poor Barb was taken into the Upside Down and didn’t survive on the first season of “Stranger Things”.
6. When Matthew shockingly died in a car accident on “Downton Abbey”.
7. When Walter was killed by a ricocheted bullet on “Breaking Bad”.
8. On “Game of Thrones”, when Ned Stark was beheaded at the end of Season One.
9. On “Desperate Housewives”, when Mike was shot after pushing Susan out of the way.
10. On “Lost”, when Jack sacrificed himself in order to save the island.
