Maybe it’s just me, but David Draiman doesn’t seem like an obvious choice to sing the National Anthem at Super Bowl LIV. However, he told Loudwire that he would be “honored beyond words to have the opportunity.”
And apparently it’s not something he takes lightly. Like, he’s been thinking about singing “The Star-Spangled Banner” since he was a kid. “I’ve dreamt of doing it my entire life. Been rehearsing it since I was a little boy.”
Of course Shakira and Jennifer Lopez have been nailed down for the half time show. But, as far as I know, the National Anthem is still up in the air.
The Disturbed front man thinks it could be the perfect way to have rock represented at the game. “There ARE rock singers out there who can do the anthem as much justice as ANY pop artists out there, and even possibly take it higher.”
What do you think? Does David Draiman have the chops to take on the National Anthem?
