Kesha has released her first public statement following the (horrific) court ruling that she can’t record music outside of Sony Music. She said, “I am beyond words in gratitude [for the outpouring of love from fans and peers]…thank you is not enough but it’s all I have.” Fans and fellow celebrities have stood in support of Kesha on social media with the hashtag #FreeKesha.
Kesha just wants to escape the binding contract she signed with her producer, Dr. Luke, who she sued for sexual harassment and abuse. Watching her burst into tears at the court hearing was absolutely heartbreaking. She’s being forced to be around and work with her abuser. This is traumatizing, cruel, and just UNFAIR. Michael Jackson tried to tell us about Sony (*sips tea*).
