Yikes: Purdue Study Warns Wabash River Is Running Out Of Water

Well this is unsettling and possibly history changing for Indiana. Purdue says a new study reveals that people are using too much water from the Wabash River, and it’s beginning to dry up. Through their findings over the course of several years of data students are finding the Wabash water levels are getting consecutively lower and lower due to overuse by farmers for irrigation in times of drought. While Indiana weather is indeed unpredictable and we don’t want our farmers losing money, students are warning if we keep on continuing  using the water without recycling it back into the source the Wabash could become a ditch before too long.

That would be a problem considering our state song is literally called “On The Banks of The Wabash”. Read more about it right here!
